Taiwan “Mr. Fingaz” Green, a talented and accomplished music producer hailing from Cambria Heights, Queens, NY, was born on December 6, 1976, in Brooklyn, New York. At the tender age of five, he moved to Queens, where he would later embark on a musical journey that would shape his life forever.
At the age of eleven, Mr. Fingaz started taking classical piano lessons, displaying a natural flair for music. His exceptional talent allowed him to progress rapidly, and soon he found himself playing at paid events. As a teenager, he temporarily diverted his attention to street basketball, but destiny had other plans for him. At nineteen, while attending classes at Queensboro Community College, his passion for music was reignited when he met a fellow student named Eddie from Harlem, who introduced him to the art of music production.
Determined to pursue his newfound passion, Mr. Fingaz sought financial support from his aunt Rosetta, who graciously loaned him the funds he needed to acquire his own music production equipment. This marked the beginning of his journey into music production.
Through the power of networking and connections from his elementary school friends, Jason and Carlton, Mr. Fingaz secured a meeting with renowned Record A&R, Irv Gotti. Although the first meeting didn’t go as planned, Irv recognized Mr. Fingaz’s exceptional musicianship, which piqued his interest. It was a mutual friend, Lil Rob, who had already been working with Irv, that vouched for Mr. Fingaz’s skills, leading to a second meeting that would change his life forever. In that fateful encounter, Mr. Fingaz created the beat for “Holla Holla,” which became a smashing hit for Ja Rule and ultimately paved the way for his signing to Irv’s production team, Top Dawg, affiliated with the esteemed Murder Inc Records label.
Over the years, Mr. Fingaz’s talents as a music producer continued to shine, and he worked with an array of distinguished artists across the music industry. His impressive list of accomplishments includes producing hits like “From My Hood to Your Hood” for Memphis Bleek & Beanie Sigel, “Vita Vita Vita” for Vita, “This My Party” for Fabolous, “Angel” for DMX, “Hop” for Busta Rhymes, “State to State” for Ja Rule (from the Exit Wounds soundtrack), and “Pov City Anthem” for Caddilac Tah (from The Fast and the Furious soundtrack).
